I am so excited to share this project with all of you. For the first time in a long while, I finally sat down and created an actual scrapbook layout and NOT a card. If you have been reading my blog for a while now you might have remembered that I made a goal for myself to complete at least one scrapbook layout a week. Well.......I have failed miserable at that goal but I am hoping that this will get my mojo back for scrapbooking.
Now this project is one of my faves because it is my best friend's sweet little baby. I have the honor of creating a baby album for her. I am just having so much fun making baby layouts. I can't wait to do another one : ) For this layout I decided to use Cosmo Cricket's "Earth Love" collection. I think it just compliments baby pictures perfectly, it is not traditional baby pink but is so "baby" in a modern way.
Here is the original picture that I was given and the edited photo in photoshop. I wanted to blur out the laundry basket in the background and give the colors a softer tint. I think it turned out wonderful :)
Here is a technique that I will be making a tutorial for in the future. I created my own faux chipboard letters. Can you see the depth of the letters? It kind of reminds me of the American Crafts chipboard letters that are all the rage right now.
I finally got to use my Heidi Swap photo corners that have been sitting in my stash for centuries! They seemed to go perfectly with the muted colors in the layout.
This is a close up of the journaling block that I left empty for my friend to write her journaling in.
