Gluten-free Hopes and One layer Challenge!

Hi Everyone,
I am so happy its Friday and I may have the opportunity to eat some actual baked good items this weekend. If you have been reading my blog, you might remember that I mentioned that the doctor put me and my husband on a gluten-free diet. It has been so challenging! Everywhere we go we smell yummy bread, ice cream, and pizza. It is torture knowing we can never eat these treats again. I have also tried baking gluten-free items but they just turn out yucky tasting. We just found a cheese cake store in our city that makes gluten-free pizza, cupcakes, cheesecakes, etc. We are going to try it this weekend! Oh I hope it tastes good!

Now for my crafty share of the day..... I am entering this card in the "One Layer Challenge" over on Kristina Werner's blog. The Challenge was to make a card using only one layer of elements. Quite a challenge for me because I am the embellishment queen, but I tried it anyways and this is what I came up with.
I used stamps to create the design of the card. I embossed straight lines across the card to create a little more detail to the card. To finish the card off, I used glossy accents on the card to add slightly more interest. It turned out to be a clean, simple card that was very quick to make. Thats all for today! Have a great weekend everyone :)

Card Recipe
Embossed Lines: Martha Stewart Score Board
Stamps: October Afternoon, American Crafts
Kraft cardstock: Bazzil

  2. Fantastic card! I love that vintage typewriter!

My BIL is on a gluten-free diet (Celiac disease). He is doing really well. (I think he was diagnosed about 8 years ago or so).

  3. Love that stamp. Your card is a winner.
That sounds like a hard way to eat, no donuts, pastries or bread.
