Birdhouse Card

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all having a wonderful week.  My life has kind of been in a little bit of craziness lately. My husband and I are going to be moving soon so we are trying to get everything together for the BIG moving day. I really don't enjoy moving and packing boxes. I am SO not looking forward to it :( But I know that this move is the best decision for us in the long run, so I am happy :)
On to the crafty share of the day......
It is time for another Digital Doodles release today. I think this stamp is my favorite out of all the digital doodles releases so far.  It is called Tweet Retreat (love that name).  For this card, I decided to resize the stamp image, print it out in a Word document, and then color the birdhouses with my Copic Markers. I placed some 3-d foam to the back of the stamp to lift it up and give my card a little bit of dimension.  I also embellished the houses with rhinestones and pearls.
Thanks for stopping by today. I wish you all a wonderful week :)

Crepe Paper Flower Tutorial

Hi Everyone,
I have a quick crepe paper flower tutorial to share with you this morning. These are super easy to make and look beautiful on cards or scrapbook pages.

To begin, you must have a circle punch. It could be a scalloped punch, like the one shown here, or a just a regular circle punch would work as well.  I like the scallop punch because it gives the finished flower a more fancy edge to it.

Once you have selected your punch, you will punch 4 circles out of crepe paper and one circle out of cardstock.  Just a quick note: I found crepe paper at my local thrift shop for .25 cents, Not bad huh?

Next, you will take your punched circles and fold them in half once and then fold them in half once again (as shown in this picture)  They should look like little pizza slices when folded correctly :)

Once your circles are folded,  you will put adhesive on the cardstock circle and attach the folded circles to the cardstock.

Here is what it will look like when all the folded circles are attached.
Lastly, you will want to use a button or a decorative brad to place in the center of your flower. You can use your imagination with the flower centers :)  And there you have a beautiful and simple crepe paper flower to use on your craft projects.

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial today :) If you have any questions, feel free to ask me :) Have a great weekend everyone!

Sorry for the delay

Hi Everyone,
I am so sorry for the delay on this project but life has just been so busy. Sometimes I feel like time is just going too quickly and I can't catch up.  There are so many things to accomplish and so little time.  Here are a few mini notecards that I have been working on for my Etsy shop.  I created these cards using my new "Create a Critter" cartridge for the cricut machine. When I saw the little bird, I knew right away that I just had to do something with her, she is just too cute!  I glittered up the heart behind her and attached a beautiful pink satin ribbon to the card.  Thanks for stopping by, I must rush off to start working on the piles of laundry that are overtaking my room. Have a great week.

Hello Card

Hi Everyone,
I have a happy little project to share with you today :) I created this card for the new DigitalDoodles stamp release today. Kathy has worked so hard to bring such wonderful new stamp releases every week! I don't know how she does it, but each stamp gets cuter and cuter. The stamp for this week is called "Field Flowers" and it is so darn cute and versatile. Plus it is only .99 cents which is really a good deal considering you can use these stamps over and over again.

For this card, I used a bunch of left over scraps that I had. I don't know why, but it makes me feel so good when I can use up my scraps. I feel like I have accomplished some great task. I know its a little silly, but I can't help it :) I also used lots of 3-d dots to make the flowers pop out of the frame. I went for bold colors, because they make me feel happy. Have a great week everyone, I will be back tomorrow with some more projects :)

Belated Teacher Appreciation

Hi Everyone,
Happy Belated Teacher Appreciation Week! Here is a project that I made for Teacher Appreciation Week using the new "Digital Doodles" stamp release "Meowy Messenger" which you can purchase here. As a former preschool teacher, I know how hard all of our teachers work out there to help our children for very little pay or acknowledgment. So here is a great big THANK YOU to all of you who care enough to dedicate your lives to children.

So in honor of teachers, I made a school themed treat bag with the new Digital Doodles stamp this week. I also made cupcake picks to go along side the treat bags.

I began by printing out the stamp onto black paper. I took a white pen and traced along the edges of the stamp image to create a chalkboard effect. I then added glue to the edges and glitter. I die cut letters and attached them to the center of my stamp image. I then printed out the little cat and bird onto colored cardstock and attached them to my chalkboard.

I used the "tags, bags, boxes, and more" cartridge from cricut to cut out the treat bag. I attached the chalkboard to the treat bag and added some trim along the bottom edge and ribbon for the handles.

For the cupcake picks, I just cut out another piece of black paper the same size as the chalkboard and attached the toothpicks in the center.

Thanks so much for dropping by and for all of your sweet comments. I hope you all have a very fulfilling week :)

Mother's Day

Hi Everyone,
Happy Belated Mother's Day to all of you mom's out there. I am just dropping by quickly to share with all of you some projects that I made for all the mother's in my life this past weekend. My husband and I spent the weekend driving down to our hometown to see my mom and my mother-in-law. We had a great time just celebrating our moms and hanging out with family. I decided to create a little gift card holder purse for all the moms.
I used the cricut template from the cartridge "tags, bags, boxes, and more" to die cut the purse and the little tag.
I created a rose by layering die cut flowers and spraying with glimmer mist. I added a little bit of stickles around the edges to create some sparkle.
I added glossy accents to chipboard letters to finish the project off.
Thanks for taking a peek at my projects. I wish you all a very beautiful week :)

Welcome!

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all having a wonderful week. My week has been busy, busy, busy! I have been trying to get all kinds of projects done for Mother's Day and Etsy while trying to keep some kind of order in my house. As I am typing, I am cooking Shepherd's pie for dinner. I am not a very good multi-tasker but I am trying to learn. The other day I burnt my black beans because I was trying to mult-task by sneaking in a nap while my dinner cooked (not such a good idea by the way). Anyways, I have a new crafty share for today...... I decided to create a "Welcome Sign" for the home. I used My Mind's Eye, "So Sophie" collection for this one and my Hero Arts butterfly stamps.
I hand crafted the flower, I used my "Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist" to color the flower and then I layered my cricut flower to create a rose shape. I just love how it turned out. I will be making more of these for sure.
Thanks for stopping by. I wish you all the best :)

Hello Everyone,
It has been a while since we last chatted. I hope you all enjoyed your National Scrapbook Day and complete something crafty last weekend. I spent the day in my scrap room working on lots of projects while my husband was busy working on the computer. Sometimes there is nothing better than just staying at home and being comfy. I did venture out of the house for an hour or two to see what was going on at my local scrapbook store. They had a whole party going on over there with jungle themed crops, music, and all kinds of good food. They also had tons of new products just waiting for me to get my hands on like the new My Mind's Eye, "So Sophie" collection. I am just so lucky to have a great store near my house that stocks up on all the new scrapbook goodies :)

Now on to my crafty share for the day..... Today there is a new stamp release from Digital Doodles called "Home Sweet Home" I was literally soooo excited when I saw the new stamp. I just couldn't wait to get in my scrap room and create something with it. If you would like to purchase this stamp you can go here. I decided to create individual notecards with the stamp. I enlarged each house in Word, printed them out, and created a card out of each stamp. I thought it would be cute to give away to friends or to give as a gift for a housewarming party, something like that. I also added a tree to my little notecard neighborhood using my cricut machine. I paper pieced each house and added a lot of fun felt embellishments and buttons. I wish you all a wonderful day and thank you so much for the kind comments I have been receiving. Your kind words always warm my heart :)
